Historical Assessment

Structural Stabilization

Patina Preservation

We examine the joinery, timber species, and maker's marks to understand the piece's origin and structural needs.

Using period-correct hide glues and matching heirloom timber, we carefully reinforce weak joints without altering original materials.

We clean the surface reverently, preserving the original finish, and apply hand-rubbed shellac to restore depth and luster.

Edward has made a fantastic job of repairing a very delapadated rocking chair, it is over a hundred years old and belonged to my grandmother, who I am sure would be thrilled with how it looks.
I can highly recommend Edward to turn things into something beautiful again.

Edward did a first class job of refinishing our Indian Rosewood dining table. He was painstaking and methodical and charged a fair price. Very pleased with the result and I have no hesitation in recommending his business.

I really enjoyed my day with Edward. He's a very patient teacher and I feel I'm now in a position to recane my broken seat. Thanks very much indeed. I would highly recommend.

Jonathan

I spent a lovely day with Edward. He showed me the basics of seat caning, was very patient as I fumbled my way through the process and I was so happy with the results. He gave me plenty of advice and tips to help me complete a project at home, even stripping the drop in seat for me ready for me to tackle. Lots of cups of tea and putting the world to rights as we worked. A great way to learn a new craft. Christina Towell
